HISTORY
FIRST ENCOUNTER
It's summer, 2000. In San Juan, Puerto Rico, there is a community of about 100 homes called El Dorado. As many other communities, there is a recreational park where most of the kids get together to enjoy the summer vacations.
One evening, a young kid, named Adrian, went to the park to practice with his skateboard. There, he met another young kid, named Edgardo, who was also practicing with his skateboard. They met each other and started talking about their interests. Very shortly they identified a common passion, music. They shared their preferences for a very well known rock band, METALLICA...
Adrian had been listening to METALLICA songs and was especially attracted to a track titled Whiplash. During the night, he will listen to this song, again and again, and will try to reproduce the drum sounds knocking in his bed with a couple of timbales sticks.
For his part, Edgardo was trying to reproduce other tunes, like Creeping Death, Seek and Destroy in his guitar.
GET TOGETHER
It didn't took long before Edgardo invited Adrian to his home to show him what he already knew about the METALLICA material.
Back home, Adrian rushed to his instrument, which was his bed, and started practicing the drum sounds for the songs that he heard from Edgardo. He was in a desperate need of a drum set to dissipate all his energy.
A couple of months later he got that as a birthday present.
On early September, 2000, both Adrian and Edgardo decided to jam together for the first time. They invited other friends to join them. All together there was a total of about 10 teenagers, including two bass guitar players, two drummers and six guitar players.
They jammed all the afternoon. They basically concentrated in two METALLICA songs, Enter Sandman and For Whom the Bells Tolls, and some Green Day stuff.
After the session was over, for most of the invited friends it was just a nice afternoon doing a different thing. But only Adrian and Edgardo felt the need to get together again and continue working on the METALLICA material.
They practiced ocasionally, but will talk about music all the time.
THE MISSING LINK IS FOUND
Another evening, while Adrian and Edgardo were together at the park, they noticed another kid practicing in his skateboard. He was whispering METALLICA songs!
They rushed to the kid, whose name was Javier and presented themselves. Javier was a bass guitar player. He had been practicing METALLICA songs at home during his free time. He was the perfect fit.
Very shortly they started thinking about making a band. They agreed on the songs they will practice individually. Then they will meet to play together to listen to themselves.
Soon they will sound very sharp and melodic... and the plans started to grow...
